Last week Newbill Miller and
Gordon Thompson tied for high honors out of over 100 other FFA and 4-H boys from Northern Virginia in the annual FFA/4-H club beef cattle judging contest at Winchester. The lads received $9 in cash awards. Both of these boys are only freshmen in vocational agriculture and in the writer’s estimation will bear watching during their next three years of FFA work.

Winchester, Va. will reign as the 1963 May Queen at Virginia Intermont College in Bristol.
Dorothy E. Payne and Douglas Atkins, seniors at Rappahannock High School, were awarded the “I Dare You” Danforth Foundation incentive award last week. This award is made in recognition of leadership, scholarship and high moral standards, to students who develop their potential.
