Rappahannock athletes were striving for individual honors and medals at the Bull Run District Track Meet May 9 at Clarke County High School.
Dexter Freeman started off with a second place finish in the long jump, jumping 20 feet, 7V« inches, his personal best. Eric Dunn cleared five feet, six inches in the high jump and took sixth place medal. Eric is a freshman and will be representing Rappahannock in the high jump in the regionals. It is quite an accomplishment for a freshman to reach regional competition.
Another freshman also representing Rappahannock is Kathy Dodson. Running the 400 in •66.2 seconds placed her fifth. These two athletes have quite a future in track in the years to come.
In the throwing events Wendy Stringfellow’ snatched two medals: a fourth in the show throwing 29 feet, 31/, inches and a sixth in the discus with a throw of 81 feet. Chandra Da
