To the editor:
I would like to publicly express my sincere appreciation to the person who supported me in the recent mayoral election. As you know, my other obligations prevented me from spending as much time as I would have liked on the campaign trail. As a result, many people were unaware of my candidacy until after the election was over, nor were they able to focus on my position on the issues. As a matter of fact, neither was I.
Nevertheless, I am encouraged by the results! The last time I was a candidate for public office, I lost by around 800 votes. This time I only lost by 51 votes. Clearly, these election results demonstrate that my unpopularity is decreasing. Thanks again for your support .
