records which had already been microfilmed by a private company. She added that the records in the clerk’s office, which date back to the establishment of Rappahannock County in 1833, are well-preserved.
“I was very impressed by the condition of the records. Some restoration has been done on the old records . . . (and) the old bound volumes have been taken apart and put in pull-out bindings,” which will reduce the wear and tear.
