“If the cause is in doubt, we get a call. We are concerned with the possibility of human involvement, but our investigation is routine when the cause of a fatal fire is in doubt. I don’t want to mislead people.”

“It’s a credit to the fire departments that they are interested enough to call in the state investigators. . . . Sometimes, we do find that fires are started to conceal other crimes,” he continued.

Agent ' Williams stressed again that his involvement in this investigation does not necessarily indicate that foul play was involved.

No determination as to the cause of the fire had been reached Wednesday morning.
