By recognizing the significance of their contribution, we also acknowledge the importance of preserving the local cultures which add so greatly to the vitality and spirit of our nation.”
The National Heritage Fellows will be honored at a special ceremony at the Capitol on September 11. A performance will follow in Washington, D. C.
