Reprieves, but. . .
The Board of Supervisors, it appears, may have gained reprieves on two of the most pressing issues facing the county: The landfill and the dog pound.
The state veterinarian has approved the dog kennel in Fauquier County wThich has been suggested as a site for stray dogs captured by Animal Warden Jack Bruce. Meanwhile, the state Solid Waste Control Board is studying a proposal to allow limited expansion of the present county landfill on Clifton Clark’s property near Woodville.
Those two developments certainly allow the supervisors to breathe a bit easier.
It is important, however, to emphasize that both these developments are temporary solutions. The supervisors have not solved either of the problems by these interim measures.
