Mr. Clark’s neighbors seem willing to hold off on their threatened court suit as well, but are demanding promises of a final closing of the present landfill in a little more than a year’s time.
Despite the respite, the supervisors still have precious little time to solve these problems.
The board has stated publicly that it would prefer to locate the landfill and the dog pound on the same site. Given the likely opposition to almost any site proposed for the landfill/po\md* much of the supervisors’ grace period may be j taken by attempts to placate irate neighbors. :,, ,
In other words, the Board of Supervisors should breathe a HASTY sigh of relief and return to its efforts to find longterm solutions to the problems of the landfill and the dog pound.
