Supervisor Miller affirmed that the board “has not intent of using the Clifton Clark property for a landfill past July 1,1987.”
As for giving assurances to Mr. Konick’s clients, “I see no need for anything other than a simple paragraph stating just that,” he said, adding that “four or five things (in the prepared resolution) raise a red flag.” As an example, he cited the stipulation that the Clark property landfill won’t be used past expiration of its existing permit. “Suppose Mr. Forman says that’s tomorrow?”
"If he does, that’s it,” Mr. Konick replied.
“Well, he may or may not be able to enforce it,” Supervisor Miller countered.
“Mr. Forman wants a resolution passed by this board that says you’re going to have a landfill in operation. .. If the county doesn’t want to meet that condition, then Mr. Forman won’t extend the landfill and Community Trash can’t fulfill it’s contract,” Mr. Konick cautioned.
