Lentczner described the faculty as an “excellent mix of creative people.” The group includes David Amram, internationally recognized composer, conductor and performer who has written more than 100 orchestral and chamber works, two cantatas and two operas; Deirdre Peterson, who recently completed her second national tour for the Guthrie Theatre as a workshop artist; violinist Sung-Ju Lee, who will compete in the International Tchaikowsky Competition in Moscow just prior to the Governor’s School, and New York artist Dorothy Gillespie, noted for her kaleidoscopic work found among international collections.

Kimberly Helmer >of Castleton was among 14 students awarded scholarships by Hagerstown Business College for the fall trimester.
Miss Helmer, who is a 1986 graduate of Rappahannock County High School, received the Secretarial Science award. It is a reduced tuition award equal to between 20 and 50 percent of the tuition per term.
The awards are based on academic achievement and potential. Consideration is also given to financial need.
Miss Helmer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Helmer of Castleton.
