Sperryville Halloween party

A Halloween party for area children will be held at the Sperryville United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 30, from 7 to 8 p.m. All children in the area are invited. There will be a judging of the costumes.

Last in book series

Dr. Peter Wirth will lecture on Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises on Monday, October 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. Students from John Heddleston’s English class at Rappahannock County High School will present readings from the novel.

All Hallow’s Eve art carnival

Come celebrate the magic of creativity at an All Hallow’s Eve art carnival, beginning 6 p.m. October 31 at the Middle Street Gallery, Washington.

According to a spokesperson there will be healing, ceremony, magic art of all kinds, including a performance ritual beginning at 8 p.m. in which audience participation will be encouraged. Scheduled performances include belly dancing by Anthea, portrait by Cathy Kiley, jazz guitar by Durrell Jackson, poetry by easy martin, mime/ dance/story telling by Marque Kolack. Sister Feenie will be there with healing rocks and gems. A $1 donation is requested.
