The superintendent gave credit for the progress with computers to assistant superintendent Tom Campbell and the teachers who worked with him to develop Rappahannock’s computer literacy programs.
Mr. Campbell pointed out that last year, Potomac Edison had given a computer to the high school.
“That’s a whole lot better than the state and federal mandates handed down from Richmond and Washington,” interjected Paul Nichols. “They don’t give us a thing!” the School Board member grumbled.
“It certainlky is nice to see business taking an interest in education,” Mrs. Massie concluded.
Still in the red
The news wasn’t near as delightful when Mr. Estabrook moved on to the cafeteria report. “We are running
at a deficit. . . There are no indicators that the cafeteria picture will be any more positive or pleasant” as the year progresses, the superintendent said.
