On a recent drive along Rt. 522 from Chester Cap to Massie's Corner, Mr. Sinnott pointed out what he considered to be numerous hazards which he says the highway department needs to address. They ranged from places where the dirt shoulder had sunk below the pavement edge, creating a groove which could catch a car tire; the grade down Chester Gap insufficiently marked with "low gear” and “truckers: test brakes" signs; passing zones with poor visibility; a school entrance and tirehouse access marked with only small signs, and numerous intersections without any warning signs about turning vehicles.
