Motorcycle crashes often are serious, yet many of the nation’s motorcycle drivers still learn to ride without the benefit of formal instruction, an official says.
Peter Fassnacht of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation in Costa Mesa, Calif., said Oct. 15 the high fatality rate in motorcycle crashes adds to the importance of rider safety courses being offered in Virginia and about 20 other states.
