America’s greatest military leaders share one common trait — selflessness — that sets them apart from others, according to Edgar F. Puryear, a Madison County judge and military biographer who gave a class on leadership to members of the Virginia Defense Force in Warrenton last week.
Mr. Puryear, a former U.S. Air Force officer and author of Nineteen Stars: A Study in Military Character and Leadership, was introduced byCapt. Bill Jagdman, commanding officer of Co. H, 2nd Bn, 3rd Bde of the Virginia Defense Force, which draws its membership from the Fauquier-Culpeper area and currently meets at the Fauquier County armory on Waterloo Road.
