“All of the artists who exhibited were delighted with the brisk business,” reported Anne Stephens, referring to the Second Annual Artists’ of the Blue Ridge Festival, held last weekend in Sperryville.
Mrs. Stephens, executive director of the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, which along with Faith Mountain sponsored the two-day festival, said she estimated that more than 5000 people attended the show, held on the grounds of Faith Mountain. “We printed 2500 programs, and ran out early.
“There was a good feeling about the event,” Mrs. Stephens continued. “It was a real festive atmosphere, with entertainment all day long on both days. There were a lot of things to do.”
She added that one of the most popular places at the festival was the RAAC Childrens’ Creative Corner, where parents could leave their children under the supervision of scouts from Girl Scout Troop 547. The scouts helped the kids with a variety of activities, leaving their parents free to leisurely enjoy the art show.
