Ms. McCue, who has presented this type of seminar in the past, has found that it’s important to keep track of all time spent at work, at least temporarily, to find, out how much of that time is ultimately paid for. “Sometimes, hours will be spent on essential, but unprofitable parts of the business,” she pointed out. “Of course, there are things that must be done other than working towards a product, but this shouldn't be a majority of the artist's time.” McCue recommends that artists single out those tasks and put a time limit on them.
