lhe second item I wish to discuss is a question asked by several of you. “What do you plan to do differently if elected?” First of all I would like to serve you not only as a record keeper, but as a record keeper and analyst. I vyould like to work closely with the Supervisors to find out what information they need to better serve you, then provide them with that information along with my recommendations and suggestions to help them make good sound decisions based on carefully analyzed statistical data. Secondly, if elected I plan to.interact with Commissioners of neighboring counties to enable me to learn from their mistakes and to capitalize on their successful endeavors. I have already met with one of our neighboring Commissioners and was received very favorably and have already started an exchange of ideas which would help me as Commissioner to stay abreast of the changing demands of this position. I also plan to join the Association of Commissioners and take continuing education courses to stay abreast of changing laws, especially as they pertain to taxes. Last of all I plan to spend as much time as needed out in the field, investigating complaints and meeting with taxpayers to find out your needs and desires. I want to meet you face to face and know you personally so I can understand you better, and better serve you as Commissioner of Revenue.
