SHERIFF JOHN HENRY WOODWARD places Randolph Clater (left) and Charles K. (Pete) Estes under “Cardiac Arrest’’ Saturday. The fund-raising effort for the Rappahannock Division of the American Heart Association netted $1,933. Mr. Clater posted the highest bail. He raised $305, considerably more than the $100 required of each “arrestee” to bail himself out of jail. And the reaction of the 17 volunteer “arrestees”? Mayor Dean Morehouse spoke for the group when he said, “I’m looking forward to next year.” Pledges to the Heart Association are still being accepted. Anyone wishing to donate should contact Betty Webb (937-5689) or write to American Heart Association, Rappahannock Division, P. O. Box 157, Washington, VA 22747. The money will be used for education and prevention of heart disease, the number one killer of Rappahannock County residents.
