agreed that something had to be done about Route 522.
“There is a definite problem in Rapphannock,” the delegate told the commissioner and Mrs. Kinchloe.
Mr. Sinnott called the situation a “dire emergency” that’s at the point “where something’s got to be done... I do wish something would be done immediately.”
Mrs. Sinnott said she is especially concerned about the steep decline from Chester Gap Mountain where the road curves and is 19.5 feet wide.
She said the highway lacks adequate signs indicating schools and road entrances and generally suffers from poor visibility. Mrs. Sinnott contends Route 522 is more dangerous than Route 17 north from Warrenton to Marshall.
Like her husband, she termed the Route 522 situation an “emergency situation” that required a ban on through truck traffic.
