Members of the Rappahannock County High School Music Boosters are taking orders for fresh Florida citrus fruit. Orders will be taken, money collected and fresh oranges and grapefruit purchased directly from a Florida grower. Students will deliver the produce to each buyer by December 10.
The fundraiser continues through November 7 and the community is urged to participate. The money will be used to purchase new gowns and instruments and rent tuxedoes. Joffrey II Ballet in Warrenton
The Joffrey II dancers will present Tales from Hans Christian Andersen at Fautprier County High School in Warrenton on Sunday, November 30. The ballet, the first full-length production to tour with the Joffrey II Ballet, was commissioned in 1985 and features two of Andersen’s familiar fairy tales. Tickets are now on sale. The Rappahannock Lions Club will meet Wednesday, November 12, at 7 p.m. at the Corner Post Restaurant in Flint Hill. All members are urged to attend.
NSDAR to meet
Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet Tuesday, November 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the Culpeper Methodist Church. Mrs. James A. Weaver of Culpeper will speak on The Gleanings of England.
Culpeper craft day
The Culpeper Fire and Rescue Auxiliary’s first Craft Day will be held Saturday, November 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Culpeper Fire Hall on West Davis Street. More than 40 exhibitors will be offering their crafts for sale. A special feature will be homemade boxed candy offered by the Auxiliary. Lunch will be available from 11 a. m. to 2 p.m. featuring homemade vegetable soup, turkey salad, cakes and pies. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day. This will be a unique opportunity to do your Christmas shopping and support the Culpeper Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad at the same time.
