I just read the October 23rd article on the truck ban on Rt. 522, that stated statistics on the switching of tractor-trailers from Rt. 17 to Rt. 522. While it gave the Commissioner’s and Senator’s and several other points of view, I don’t believe that it gave the angry citizen’s point of view. I, Alex Smith of Huntly, Va., am just that citizen. Most of the people in your article talked about doing something in the future, but if more people supported the ban some of those things might actually get done.
I have seen it all happen right in front of my eyes. There have been three recent wrecks involving tractor-trailers that I could see from my very own house. One of these involved the deaths of relatives of some very good friends. I live in fear of the trucks in the morning and afternoon.
