Still upset
To the editor:
Even though I no longer teach at RCHS, it still upsets me when I read one of Mr. Robert Eastham’s letters to the editor. For over 10 years facts have been justifying the need for capital improvement at the high school and Mr. Eastham himself has been among those trumping up reasons to stop the progress necessary, to the detriment of the students in his county. The following is a point by point re-? sponse to his letter:
“1. School Enrollment:” Thirteen years ago when I began teaching at RCHS, the number of students enrolled was much greater than the number for which the facilities were designed, and no change over those years have removed that deficiency.
“2. An updated price tag:” Before the building project is begun I am sure the cost will be known. Please Mr. Eastham, do not argue price as a reason for not moving ahead. If you had voted years ago for the expansion, the cost would have been much less. Capital improvement is necessary and the county will find the money now as it could have 10 years ago. One should not merely live on an inheritance, but one must work for future needs making the necessary changes in his life.
