In a supnse move last Friday, Harold Voyd Brown, 39, Box 118, Syria, pleaded guilty to charges of second degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in the slaying of Aurelious W. Timmons on June 7.

The guilty plea came during a hearing on motions before Judge W. Shore Robertson prior to Brown’s trial, scheduled for today and tomorrow in Circuit Court in Rappahannock County.

According to Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke, Brown entered into a plea agreement with the state. In return for the guilty plea to the two charges, Mr. Luke will recommend a sentence of 15 years in the state penitentiary; 13 years on the murder charge and two years for the firearm conviction.

Mr. Luke said that Judge Robertson has set sentencing for Jan. 12, 1987, at 1 p.m. At that time the judge will receive a presentencing report on Brown. Mr. Luke added that Judge Robertson is free to accept or deny the plea agreement, and that if
