“4. Accreditation standards:” Mr. Eastham you need only read the report of the accreditation committee recommending the improvements in the building plan.
“5. Course offerings:” Students advancing to college must take such courses as physics and chemistry and as most high schools now offer calculus it is in- > creasingly more difficult for college students to compete in mathematics related courses without first learning those concepts in high school.
“6. State mandates requiring more space:” A handicapped physical education space is only one of those mandates published in the past newspaper articles. Mr. Eastham need just ask the superintendent of schools for a copy of his rationale sheet listing what were quoted to be “factual rather than judgemental needs.”
Perhaps it is useless to convince Mr. Eastham, but if anyone still has doubts after the past 10 years of justifying facts brought to light, I challenge you to speak with the School Board and gain factual answers to your questions, rather than listening to the false generalizations of a few members of this county more interested in their pocketbooks than in the welfare of the children needing their attention.
