Mr. Phadke is presently engaged in developing a simulator to which a hierarchy of microprocessors will be connected in order to test the algorithms - mathematical procedures
for solving problems - that he has devised for the control of electric power. It is state-of-the-art research of great interest to the electric utility industry. The goal is a more efficient nationwide power system, with lower electricity costs for the consumer.
The work will also lessen the chance of future blackouts and power outages, ensuring a lighted auditorium for Professor Phadke’s next lecture.
