they are hard to change. This fact of human behavior is every bit as true < for children as it is for adults.

Change in the behavior of children requires work by parents in guiding them in the right direction. After loving and caring, the most important ingredient in helping to nurture healthy change is consistency. In fact, many parents already know what they need to do — but something in their own personality holds them back from putting it into place or doing what is necessary consistently.

In helping our young people make necessary, constructive changes, it may be helpful to remember how well we do with ourselves. It is often hard, regardless of the age of the person involved. Change takes motivation, time and consistency - combined of course with love and caring. It may be helpful to remember this, both with ourselves and with our youngsters.
