The violent crimes of murder, rape, robbery and aggravated assault decreased an average of 15 percent, while the property crimes of burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft decreased eight percent. Decreases were reported in rape, down 14.3 percent; robberty, down 13.1 percent; burglary, down 3.5 percent; larceny, down 9.7 percent, and motor vehicle theft, down 4.1 percent.
