Rappahannock resident Phil Irwin was named director emeritus by the Piedmont Environmental Council at its annual meeting and issues conference Sept. 10.
PEC reserves this honor for long-time board members with a history of distinguished service. The nine-county conservation organization was founded in 1972, and Mr. Irwin has served on its board since then.
