Fest Sept. 26
The 13th Annual Orange Street Festival, “Virginia’s Biggest Block Party” according to organizers, will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26 in downtown Orange from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The street festival is sponsored by the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. Last year’s festival was the most successful ever, as downtown Orange (pop: 3,000) was inundated with 15,000 visitors.
This year’s festival will feature more than 100 exhibitors, artisans and craftsmen from throughout the Eastern U.S., local merchants and area businesses. Items for sale and display will range from crafts, paintings, ceramics, dolls, clothing, quilts, gold leaves and jewelry to pianos, wood products, books, plants, fresh fruits and vegetables, and homemade foods.
At three locations, entertainment will be provided throughout the day. The crowds can dance and sing to blues, gospel, bluegrass, country and contemporary rock singers and groups. Five performances by three area clogging groups, story tellers, dancers and much more will be featured. A hot air balloon also is scheduled to appear.
