Volleyball
set for all
Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department is offering area volleyball enthusiasts an opportunity to participate in their favorite sport any or every night of the week, if they so desire.
On Monday and Wednesday evenings, players may congregate at C. M. Crockett Park to play from 5:30 until dusk. The program, which is free of charge, is open to all ages and abilities and will be held through Oct. 28.
A coed volleyball league for adults, 18 and older, will play on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Warrenton Junior High School. “A” (competitive) division plays on Thursdays and “B” (recreational) division on Tuesdays. League play began Sept. 22 and ends Nov. 10. Parks and Recreation will keep a listing of individuals who would like to participate and will supply teams looking for players with names and numbers from that list.
From 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Fridays a volleyball clinic for adults will be held at Warrenton Junior High School. From Sept. 25 through Nov. 13 Ed Niko will provide instruction in basic skills, drills, and scrimmage time. Register individually ($2 for residents, $2.50 for non-residents) or by team ($10 for residents, $12 for non-residents) each night.
