The Virginia Department of Transportation has 1 opening for Highway Equipment Operator B at the Warrenton Headquarters. Duties: Operates and maintains medium-duty equipment, such as trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, tractors, rollers, and backhoes, to accomplish tasks related to snow removal, preventive and corrective maintenance work, and state force construction. Performs manual labor and supervises laborers in performing road maintenance duties or operating equipment. Performs preventive and minor maintenance on equipment. Fills out equipment rental records and timesheets. Qualifications: Valid Virginia Operator s licence. Ability to operate trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, tractors, rollers, and backhoes. Must be physically able to perform heavy manual labor. Ability to complete reports on hours worked and materials used. Ability to instruct others in operating and maintianing equipment. Safety shoes are required in the performance of the above duties. Salary: $13,412 - $18,321 (Grade 5)
