Second gubernatorial debate i The second and last televised debate | between Republican gubernatorial candidate J. Marshall Coleman and his Democratic opponent, Lt. Gov. L. Douglas Wilder, will be held Thursday, Oct. 19. The one-hour debate, sponsored by the Capitol Correspondents' Association, will begin at 7 p.m. and can be seen in this area on WWBT channel 12 in Richmond, WVIR channel 29 in Charlottesville, WNVT public television in Fairfax, and WVPT public television in Harrisonburg. It will also be carried via satellite on the C-SPAN cable network.
Flu shots available
The Rappahannock County Health Department is still offering flu shots for residents. The shot, according to public, health nurse Marion Facchina, is particularly recommended for the elderly, children with exposure to groups of other children, and any adult (health workers, for example) who is exposed to many people, particularly those who are ill. The cost of the shot varies on a sliding scale based on income. For more information, or to make an appointment, call the Health Department (675-3516).
