Subdivision
Continued from page 1
Wickens reminded the partners that the application must be considered under the existing subdivision ordinance, which is expected to be amended drastically during the coming months. Under its provisions, he said, there are requirements which are not only “onerous” but are not in the best interests of the town, but which must be met nevertheless.
The planners’ chief concern was the availability of water, since the town has a moratorium on further expansion of its water system until new supplies are brought on line. Mr. Morehouse replied that he had purchased the.last available tap from the water system, and that the subdivision would be served by one twoinch main running from that tap.
The bill would be paid by the subdivision’s homeowners’ association, which will also administer monies levied for maintenance of the road serving the lots.
