Floors, Shaker pegs on the walls, and woodwork are original as are the chestnut stair rails and living room and dining room windows, and the dining room door with its John Harper lock. Beyond the entry hall is a lovely farm eat-in kitchen, the original log house whose size is delineated by the large ceiling beam.
Beyond this was a porch now incorporated into the kitchen. A doorway to the dining room shows the width of the log house walls. The original dug well, stone lined, 23 feet deep and still functioning, is located just outside the rear kitchen door.
Dependencies include a smoke house to the right and behind, a bam nbw Col. Bingham’s woodworking shop, and a guest house. Behind these are a lovely swimmming pool and a 2 1/2 acre pond stocked with blue channel cat, bass and bluegill.
Around the house and between it and the pond are large boxwoods, many of which started as cutting from those in Williamsburg.
