however, when they were told that five feet of frontage along Blue Ridge Ave. would have to be dedicated to the highway department to fulfill the ordinance’s requirement. The problem, Mr. Parrish explained, is that if such a dedicatioh were required and the land subtracted from the 1.5 acre parcels, several lot boundaries would have to be redrawn to make the minimum lot size.
Since the town has no intention of widening the road, he said, and indeed could not since neighbors on the other side of the road have not dedicated the necessary additional frontage, such a dedication would be a hardship.
Mr. Wickens replied that the ordinance clearly states that all subdivisions must have 50-foot rights-ofway along the state road.
