Mr. Morehouse asked Supervisor Hubert Gilkey why the county had objected to a “one-time” minor boundary adjustment of the lot lines of eight to ten lots. “That seemed to me to be the most expeditious way to handle this without changing the zoning ordinance. ”
The county, Mr. Gilkey replied, did not object to the adjustment, but questioned who would pay for the surveying necessary to redraw the boundaries.
“It wouldn’t be fair to put that on the county. We would share the cost,” Mayor Morehouse assured him.
Mr. Gooch, who is a member of the joint committee, told the mayor that “there was a feeling that solution could not be uniformly applied to all property owners. We have tried to put blinders on, and to solve the problem with everybody in the same way.”
