To the editor: Virginia has a new law that says a.gun dealer must call the State Police to make sure that a customer does not have a criminal record before selling him an assault weapon. This has nothing to do with rifles and shotguns used by hunters, only with the tools of drug dealers and mass murderers. This law passed the House of Delegates by a vote of 80 to 15.
