fice, I cannot refrain from joining the many others in expressing disappointment in and opposition to the apparent growing trend toward negative campaigning by both political parties.
Where this happens, and whatever may be the election outcome, this approach leaves voters turnedoff, paritcularly among the younger folk, feeling let-down, and with a bad after-taste. Let’s insist that our political leaders from now on emphasize the positive and the upbeat that will attract and inspire the electorate.
There is simply too much voting based on an emotional basis rather than the essential thoughtful consideration of what is really best — realistic and accomplishable. It even could be that the very survival of our democratic system may be in harm’s way unless we lift our standards for political conduct and action.
