Lynch enters
guilty plea

Reinhardt Lynch pleaded guilty Tuesday in Rappahannock County General District Court to a misdemeanor charge of voting fraud.
Mr. Lynch, 42, the co-owner of The Inn at Little Washington, was sentenced by Judge Charles B. Foley to 60 days in jail, suspended, a $1,000 fine plus court costs, and ordered to perform 80 hours of community service. He was also placed on unsupervised probation for one year.
The guilty plea was accepted by Judge Foley after Commonwealth’s! Attorney Peter Luke recommended sentencing under terms of a plea agreement reached with Mr. Lynch and his attorney, Gerard Treanor.
Mr. Lynch was charged with “counseling or advising” another person to vote in the town election in Washington with knowledge that person was not qualified to vote, according to his arrest warrant.
The charge was made, along with three other charges of illegal voting filed against three other men by Rappahannock County Sheriffs Department Capt. Ed Streapy following an investigation of a complaint of illegal voting.
Charged along with Mr. Lynch were Alan Rene Margreithor, 20, David William Howard, 35, and Eric Matthew Schwier, 33. The three were charged with voting in an election district in which they did not reside. All were employed at The Inn at Little Washington at the time.
