Assistant Superintendent Robert Chappell reported that he had been successful in getting U.S. Intec, the manufacturer of the roofing material used on part of the high school to contract with Southwest Roofing to make repairs and do some preventative maintenance to the roof over the west corridor.
However the old roof over the auditorium and former coach’s office that is now used for the electronic classroom is not covered by any warranty and continues to leak. Mr. Chappell said he and custodian Wilson Atkins had put 10 gallons of roofing cement on that roof and it does not now leak. “We’ve taken care of the problem on a band aid basis,” he said.
