Hospice volunteers needed
The Hospice of the Rapidan will offer its fall volunteer training beginning Tuesday, Sept. 25. Classes will meet three consecutive Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteers provide care and support to terminally ill patients and their families. The Hospice is especially in need of volunteers to serve clients in Rappahannock County, according to volunteer coordinator Paige Coombs. 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'
The movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be playing at the Gay Street Theater on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23 at 2 p.m. each day. This is the movie version of the kiddie TV series featuring “Raphael,” “Leonardo,” “Michaelangelo” and “Donatello,” who are not great artists but green turtles who, weaned on radioactive waste and trained by their sansei, similarly mutated rodent Splinter, live in the New York sewers and can deliver a roundhouse kick better than Bruce Lee. The movie is rated PG.
Circus Day at Flint Hill
Thursday, Sept. 20, will be “Circus Day” in Flint Hill with special arrangements being handled by Robert Brothers Circus. Proceeds from the advance ticket sales will be used for the ongoing expenses of the fire department. The event will include clowns, animals, live music, and fun for everyone. A community wide sale will be sponsored prior to “Circus Day.”
