An apple harvest festival will be held in Sperryville on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, rain or shine.
The following businesses will be participating in the festivities. Rocklands Orchards, Sperryville Antique Market, That Sperryville Emporium, Sperryville Deal, The Church Mouse, The Faith Mountain Company, Southern Drawl Artworks, Country Home Antiques and Fine Gifts, The Annex, Woodsmoke Cafe, Elmer’s Antiques, Glassworks Gallery, Oldway Craft Village, Horseshoe Hill Restaurant, Parkway Gift Shop and Country Manor.
Country Manor will feature apple butter boiling and basket weaving and catalog closeouts.
Sperryville Antique Market will have special antique sales, in addition to a bake sale sponsored by the Rappahannock Extension Homemakers Club.
Southern Drawl Artworks, a complete fine arts gallery features creative custom framing, wildlife, Civil War and old and rare prints. Visiting artist Tanya Richey will be available on Sunday to discuss her work.
Crafts, food, special tent sales, entertainment and games for children can be found at That Sperryville Emporium.
Country Home Antiques and The Annex will feature fine antiques in addition to wine tasting by Dominion Wine Cellars on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The “Culture Vulture” Band will perform on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. under the Sycamore tree. Apple butter boiling and homemade breads and pastries will also be available. On Sunday, there will be storytelling for the children by John Cheatwood at 2 and 4 p.m. under the Sycamore tree, homemade breads and pastries available also.
Also visit the Jenkins’ third location “The Pumpkin Patch,” one mile west on Route 211 for pumpkins, cider and apples.
