The village welcomes Miss Lori Keigh Pfalzgraf, daughter of Marcel and Carole Pfalzgraf of Springfield. Miss Pfalzgraf is currently teaching Drama and Sophomore English at Rappahannock County High School. She is an avid reader and collector of books, especially those written by John Steinbeck, her favorite author. She also enjoys writing and drawing. At present, Miss Pfalzgraf says she has little time for these interests and instead spends her leisure time preparing for her activities in the classroom.
Also new to the community is the Mary and Mike Bums family from Warrenton. Mike studied architecture at VPI. He is an employee of Smith Brothers Construction. He epjoys fishing and hunting. Mary enjoys cross-stitching and singing. They have two children Mike Jr., 4 and Aubrey Jean, 2. Mike Jr., is a student at Fresta Valley Christian School, where Mary drives a school van.
Lisa Stuart and Cathy Smith attended a bridal shower for Machelle Smith on Saturday in Sperryville.
Jo Mills celebrated her birthday last Friday, Mike Bums, Sr., on Monday, and Lisa Stuart will celebrate her birthday on Sept. 28.
What a beautiful week; fall foliage is beginning to show its colors with the cool days. I hope you got to see the double rainbow Sunday afternoon. Although it was brief, I have never witnessed such a spectacular rainbow. On Rt. 639 you could actually see “the end of the rainbow.” The trees beyond were colored with its brilliance.
Mr. and Mrs. Burrell Luttrell of Silsbee, Texas visited recently to see his father Mr. Landera Luttrell who is quite ill.
