'Fantasia' at The Theatre
The 50-year-old Disney Studios classic "Fantasia," set to Dukas' "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," will be shown in The Theatre at Washington, Va. at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. The movie is part of the Sunday night film series sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC).
"Fantasia" is a fantastic blend of brilliant animation, vibrant color and exhilarating music. The highlights are everywhere: Mickey Mouse as the naughty sorcerer's apprentice, the hippos dancing ballet with crocodiles in "Dance of the Hours," and the awesome figure of Chernabog, the god of evil and death in the "Bold Mountain" sequence.
