late Paul C. and Mildred Hodson Wolfe. He was employed with Paul’s Maytag in Front Royal and had worked for 13 years as a Linotype operator at the Northern Virginia Daily in Strasburg. He had owned Wolfe’s T.V. in Warrenton and had served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II where he was a nosegunner and aviator on B-24’s He flew 23 missions and received four Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Strasburg Christian Church, a life member of the Robert E. Laing Post 9835, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Warrenton, and a member for the past 38 years of the Strasburg American Legion Post 77 where he served as post commander.
Surviving are his wife, Joanne Riggleman Wolfe; a son, Patrick G. Wolfe of Bealeton; three daughters, Gwen Bartlebaugh of Warrenton, Susan L. Shipp of Birmingham, Ala. and Lisa E. Whiting of Bealeton; a brother, B. Harold “Poss” Wolfe of Strasburg; a sister, Juanita W. Artz of Strasburg; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were John D. Ritenour, Clarence Andrews, Wayno Updike, Benny Updike, Samuel F. Artz Jr. and Carl F. Ritenour.
