Members agreed that Charles K. “Pete” Estes and F.D. Coffey should talk with Mr. Jenkins about the van or a pickup truck and purchase a vehicle if it costs $300 or less.
Mr. Smith provided a list of work Mr. Jenkins has done since September. The list was used for a quarterly report to the state Department of Environmental Quality on what the WSA had done to reduce the problem of infiltration of rainwater into the system. The members agreed that much has been done, but while daily flow has decreased, it will take another heavy rain to find out how effective the work has been.
Chairman Gene Leggett reported he had been out of town and unable to meet with Mr. Estes to go over the budget. He said they would have a budget for the current year by next month.
The board approved a resolution authorizing Peter Luke, as county attorney, to represent the WSA in taking legal action on John Shipman’s account which has been unpaid for over three years.
Mr. Smith brought a draft of a proposal to charge potential customers with reserved sewer rights half the cost of regular sewer use. The WSA discussed the issue but took no action. Treasurer Carson Johnson, who has the longest tenure on the WSA, is to assemble all the resolutions he has records of to see what past policy has been.
