The 15th annual Oktoberfest and Open Craft Show sponsored by St. John’s Parish will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14 and 15 on the school and parish grounds near King and Winchester in Old Town Warrenton.

The St. John’s community has planned a groaning board of its famous Oktoberfest food and drink, a lively German band, and an open craft show to delight the visitor. The Oktoberfest Bakery, raffles of all sorts, door prizes, and children’s games promise amusement for all.

The German Band entertains on Friday from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 12-5 p.m. as accompaniment to the merriment and feasting on grilled brautwurst, German potato salad, sauerkraut, beef, wine, sodas, and a miscellany of tempting desserts. From 6 until 9 p.m. on Saturday the Oompah Five plays traditional German music.

Saturday’s morning festivites include the In Motion Performance Troupe at 10 a.m., a Karate demonstration at 10:30 a.m. and the Warrenton Gymnastics Team at 11:15 a.m.
