When a Rappahannock small business ventures into a new area by offering good food, combined with family entertainment, they should be applauded and recognized. Such is the case of Gregg and Cindy Gillies who began early this year by bringing a family supper-club atmosphere to their Sperryville restaurant, The Appetite Repair Shop.
Every Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m., patrons eat, talk or listen to tuneful solo presentations by rising stars of the music world, some of whom are already known throughout the East. One such star appearing recently was Greg Howard, who presented a two hour program playing “The Stick,” an electronically enhanced stringed instrument that resembles a guitar minus its sound box.
