Col. Metzinger will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Oct. 20 with a graveside service and full military honors.
Mabel Logan
Mrs. Mabel Roosevelt Logan, 94, of Sperryville, died Friday, Oct. 7 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital in Culpeper.
Mrs. Logan was a native of Rappahannock County and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville.
,Mrs. Logan was a homemaker and the wife of the late Carter Logan.
She is survived by her family she helped raise, five nieces, Evangelist Anna Allsberry of Flint Hill, Harriet Lewis and Virginia Lewis, both of Washington, D.C., Mae Proctor of Lanham, Md. and Betsy Myles of Landover, Md.; three nephews, Thomas C. Lewis of Sperryville, James Lewis and Charles Lewis, both of Washington, D.C.jf one great-niece, Treavous Lewis of Fairfax; one great-nephew, John Lewis of Sperryville; two close friends, Rachel Aylor and Roberta Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville at noon on Thursday, Oct. 13 with the Rev. John Pendleton of Flint Hill officiating.
Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Sperryville.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. until the time of services on Thursday, Oct. 13 at Hopewell Baptist Church. i
